I need to allow users to manually enter a date in the Date Picker OR use the popup calendar. How can this be done?

This doesn't seem to be a setting that ChronoForms makes but is in the Aeron Calendar itself. I had a quick look at the docs there and don't see an over-ride option using text boxes but you could adapt it to use drop-downs.
Alternatively perhaps the Joomla Calendar allows date write-in.
