dondon1205 23 Mar, 2010
Hey guys,

I have strange problem with my choroform. Yesterday when I create the form it works well.. I was able to received mail coming from my form. But all of a sudden this morning when I try to make a test again on my form I cannot receive any mail after submitting from the said form.

And also the Captcha image is working.

I am using chrono (non-comercial) V3.1 RC5.4.

Can anyone help me with this..?

Hi Dondon,

Sorry but it's impossible to say anything very useful from this information. It sounds as though something has changed on your site if it was working yesterday but is not working today.

Hi Bob

I really don't know. All of a sudden does not work. What I did was that editing the form code to rearrange the field location to suit it what we want the form looks like.

I will try to reinstall the Chrono again and hope to have some luck again.

I'll get back to you.

But I guess for sure no problem if I just use your Non-Comercial version of it?

Thank you for the very helpful system

By the Bob, I also get this "Your Chronoforms install at <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.sample.com">www.sample.com</a><!-- w --> is NOT Validated, No limited features but for a small fee you get link free forms and help us continue the development and support"

Where can I get the code for the free version?

Again thank you,

Hi Dondon,

If you changed the Form HTML then most likely a little typo has crept in. If you post a link to the form (preferably with debug on) or post a backup copy here we can take a quick look.

You have got the free version. It shows that message and puts a tag line under your forms. If you buy a subscription you get a different message there and the tag lines disappear. Otherwise the code is identical - you don't gain or lose any features.

Hi dondon,

Is it enabled on the Anti-Spam tab - and does the captcha image show there?

HI Dondon,

Does the image show on the Anti-spam tab? If not then there's probably a permissions problem with your site setup. There's a FAQ that suggests some tests that you can try.

Hi Bob

No image on the antispam tab. Okay maybe there's a problem permission setup on my site..

I will check it.

Thank you Bob,

Hi Dondon,

Seems to happen with mod_security sometimes.

If you or your ISP can't fix it then the ReCaptcha plugin may work for you.

Hi Bob

I check in the FAQs regarding the captcha problem. And this is what written "If all is well there and images still do not display then you can get more 'informative' error reports if you Change the header at line 17 in chrono_verification.php from header("Content-type: image/png"); to header("Content-type: text/html");. Then point your browser directly to that file i.e. http://www.example.com/components/com_chronocontact/chrono_verification.php"

My question where can I edit this one? Sorry I'm newbie in this.

Thank you,
Dondon

Hi Dondon,

You need to open the file in a text editor and literally change line 17 exactly as the FAQ describes.

To do this you need either FTP access to your site files or to use a Joomla site editor like ExTplorer.

Caution: editing files directly can damage your site. If you don't know what you are doing (a) make sure you backup everything first and (b) get someone more experienced to help you or do it for you.

Hi logoonlinepros ,

Please post a link to the form so we can take a look.

Okay I think I figured it out. I had two different Captcha programs fighting each other. I disabled one and enabled one. which resulted in the first one being enabled and the 2nd one being disabled, go figure. Clearing browser cache, Joomla cache and shaking my monitor a few times seems to have done it.
