Hello,
I'm new to Chrono engine and am trying to create a custom form, but don't want to use usernames, but want to use emails for registration. Is there any way to do this?
Is there also any way to have conditional forms or show certain from results based on a prior question?
thanks
Hi jvalal,
1) Use the Joomla Registration Plugin and put the name of the email input in both the email and username boxes.
2) Yes, you can build complex multi-step forms but it's not necessarily straightforward and requires some coding.

Hi jvalal,
I don't understand the form. If you are going to use the email address as a username then why would you have a separate username input in the form? Makes no sense to me??
Bob
I don't want a separate username, but I don't see any option to turn that field off or use the email address as the login. I just want the user to fill in an email and have Joomla use that as a login, hide, the "the desired username" and then move email to the top.
Am I missing something?
Hi jvalal,
Yes but I don't know what.
Just edit the Form HTML (or use the Wizard Edit) to have the fields that you want where you want them.

But I think I need to "edit" the Joomla registration form, which I think is hardcoded i.e. I can't customize, right?
Hi jvalal,
Ahh . . . no, you need to create a replacement registration form in ChronoForms. See the pdf tutorial from the link above.
Bob
Sorry, where is the link? Can you insert?
thanks, I'll take a look at it. More questions to come.
Hi jvalal,
Scroll up, click tutorials, ChronoForms J1.5 tutorials, scroll down. Look for the Registration tutorial #4 I think.
