ChronoForms and SSL

faramarz 31 Jan, 2010
Hi,

I was wondering if it's possible to create a form with ChronoForms to capture client's credit cart information. My site is running on Joomla 1.15 and I don't have SSL yet, I don't want my whole website to run on SSL, I only want the form to be safe and secure to capture those data. I have tested out the ChronoForms demo and I like it's simplicity but I need to know if it works with SSL before I purchase the license.

Thanks

Hi faramarz,

We never recommend that any user captured credit card information if you can possibly avoid it.

I understand that ChronoForms works with SSL under the standard Joomla settings. If you force the page URL to SSL then ChronoForms will pick that up and use it.

Bob,

Thanks for your reply. How about any integration with paypal? My client wants to sell her website's ads placements. How about if I make the form to capture the client information then use a paypal check out page URL in the "redirect after submission" input box in ChronoForms setting?

Thanks

Hi faramarz,

You can work with standard payPal accounts nicely with the ReDirect Plugin which allows you more control than just using a Redirect URL (though that will also work). If your client has the appropriate PayPal account you could also use the PayPal API plugin with SSL.

The difference is that the API plugin keeps the user on your site but requires better security.
