Hi all,
i'm seeing that for now the component is very very good but there aren't many features as emails notification for reply or smiles. Max and GreyHead are great admins but at the moment whey are working on new release of chronoconnettivity and chronoforms so nobody follow this project. I'm translating the component to italian and i'm working on a new version with new features and some bug fixes. All the component will be validated in XHTML 1.0 according to joomla. I hope that the admins aren't working on a new version or my work won't be useful and i hope that admins will appreciate my work😀

It's probably worth sending an email to Max from the Contact Us form above before you do too much work. I have no idea what his plans for ChronoComments are.

i'm not doing a real new complete version, i'm fixing bugs, adding italian translation and creating a new frontend interface (for now), can you contact max and tell him about my work?

You are welcome to do any changes you think will improve the extension and will be helpful for everybody, indeed I didn't abandon ChronoComments but my thoughts are rebuilding the whole extension from bottom up using an improved workflow and design, and using a new core as well, this may not be ready before 3 months at least, mootools 1.2 will be used as well to be compatible with J1.6, they are about to release it anytime soon.

are you very familiar with the Joomla framework ? are you a developer with comfortable PHP experience ? please contact me if so and we can manage this better!🙂

i'm a student at a programmer school and i'm learning php now, i'm expert of xhtml, css, html and javascript. I know a litte of php but i'm not a very big expert, i do what i can do😀 i know the joomla framework but not a lot, i only want to contribute :wink: for now i'm translating to italian the latest public release of chronocomments (1.2) but i would add new features:

new features for send emails when there is a reply

new antispam for more security

fix the existing bugs

new admin interface

add smiles to the form of comments

there are many things that i want to do but i'm not an expert... i love asp or asp.net, lua and vb.net for now🤣

I was waiting the new version before implementing ChronoComents on a site but I think that I’ll use the 1.2 and the moderation in frontpage hack. Thanks for the roadmap information.
