Paypal api doubling amount charged?

Jefftech 13 Jul, 2009
I have a form that is using the PayPal API. I am using website payments pro PayPal account.

Everything works fine except the amount getting submitted to PayPal is doubled every time. The amount field displays correctly on the form and is the correct amount in the conformation email that gets sent out by ChronoForms. However when I switch over and log in to PayPal or look at the funds received notification email from PayPal the amount is doubled.

I cannot figure out why it is doing this. Do I need to get a license key for ChronoForms or something for the PayPal API to work properly?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jefftech,

I just took a look and the plugin Tooltip says

Submit form data to PayPal API payment gateway, plugin must be configured, you need a license to use this plugin for real transactions because the unlicensed version doesn't submit the real cost amounts to Paypal

It looks as though Max has added a randomiser here as well as in the Authorize.net plugin.

Thanks, I jsut got a license. Got it all validated when i go to the forms manager Your Chronoforms install at <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.mysite.com">www.mysite.com</a><!-- w --> is Licensed , its green etc.

The amount is still being doubled or tripled. Is there something else i need to do to remove the randomizer ? Download new files?

OK so

For this you will need a PayPal plugin license to get the licensed version of the Paypal plugin!Let me know if you have any questions!

Max

I do not understand I thought by getting the ChronoForms license I was doing that. In essence I spent 25$ to get a license I do not need?

Where do I get the PayPal Plug-in license from & how do I get it set up to work with chrono forms?

*edit* OK Max Has sent me the proper Paypal licensed file. Works like a charm. Thanks so much for all the help !

I'm having this exact same problem with my paid/verified copy of ChronoForm. Every time I try to submit it makes it look like its sending the correct payment amount, but upon checking in the paypal sandbox its 2x or 3x more than what it should have been. Where can we get the correct file that doesn't do this?

How do we validate the Chronoforms PayPal plugin ultimate subscription? When I go to the validate license page, it's not listed as one of the products to validate.

Hi tstroud,

I think that Max charges extra for the PayPal API plugin. Please ask him using the 'Contact Us' link here.

Alright, I contacted Max and got the licensed file and replaced the original paypal api php file. I have followed the directions for the Paid registration using Paypal plugin. I still am having it process twice for some reason. All I have to do is replace the original file with the new one and it should work just like that, right? My form is at http://www.biaep.com/index.php?option=com_chronocontact&Itemid=64. Every time I submit, the debug shows 2 transaction id's and the paypal sandbox shows that there were 2 charges. Don't know what to do to fix it.

Hi tstroud,

Is it passing the transaction more than once? Or just changing the amount on a single transaction?

Max is the expert on the PayPal API Plugin, I've never had cause to use it :-(
