forms not working could be a bug ? help

lukegt 23 Apr, 2009
HI all,

I recently downloaded installed (latest version ) and created a simple form (following the tutorials on this site), and i'm encountering a weird issue. Now when i fill in the form fields and click submit it takes me to my main front page without displaying the thank you message configured in "form code" or sending the email with the information request. SO am i missing something or is it a bug?

I'm using

Hi, do you have anything in the "Redirect URL" field under Form URLs tab ?

No the redirect url and submit url are blank.

I even tried to uninstall, clean all cache, and reinstall, and created a simple form with the same result. I know the email feature works, because i have another module called "tell a friend" that works fine.

Hi lukegt,

If you have SEF URls on it's possible that the ChronoForms submit url is being redirected. Otherwise, if you like to Email or PM me a SuperAdmin login I'll take a look.

Hi djcoo,

Thanks for this, great to see some new documentation there. (And I'm please that Yannick found a way to maintain the extension).

Added to the ToDo list but don't hold your breath.

Bob,

Just wanted to let you know that was all. I understand everyone is busy, most certainly those people who also maintain these support forums. If I was smarter... I'd probably jump in there and give it a try but I don't think I'm that bright...

Is there anyway to be notified though or get myself on a list once there is such an "official" extension?? As our forms aren't redirecting correctly right now, we will probably turn them off...and just have people email us the required info...

Thanks we love how simple, and yet how powerful this component is, and we can't wait to have it up and running with the urls, and redirect working!

Hi djcoo,

Sorry, there isn't a notification list. I posted in Yannick's forum last time but I don't know if that exists any more.

ChronoForms *should* still work OK with sh404SEF if you set the extension to 'ignore' in the sh404SEF setup.

Well the new settings are to "skip" not "ignore" but that still doesn't work for me. It is saying there is no such form or it isn't published or whatever....and with it using the beta version you'd posted before it redirects to the form, but the submitting button redirects to the homepage-- but without "submitting" any of the info, or emailing it to us...

any ideas??

Hi djcoo,

Sorry about the 'wrong' command I haven't looked at this since I wrote the aplpha version for Joomla 1.5 a year or more ago. There have been many changes in ChronoForms since then.

I've downloaded and read the new instructions which a bit clearer than the old ones. It's no high on my priority list to re-write the plugin though :-(

If you have a go, please do post it here.

Bob
