Adding a chronoconnectivity search function in Main Menu

Hi =)

I have set up my site using Joomla. There's a page for members to submit & upload info/pic. And there's a page for guests to search the database.

Now, I am hoping that guests can directly do a search on the main menu page (without going to the info/pic submission page). I wonder if this is possible.

If possible, how do I do it? Need any special code?
