Connecting to a SQL Server DB?

I saw on the site that this was an upcoming feature, was wondering if it is possible yet?

Which breed of SQL server? Joomla supports MySQL and MySQLi but nothing else at the moment.

MsSQL... Trying to configure LQM which claims to connect if you get all the moons in line...

Trying to weigh in whether I could use ChronoConnectivity to connect (and uninstall LQM all together) since I haven't discovered the magic sauce in 3 days time on the other...

Trying to use ADOdb to connect, but I can't find a DSN that works / permissions, etc, so I was being hopeful.

I did come across this thread on the Joomla forums though about connecting Joomla to MsSQL in case that would help you guys out developing the added functionality in an even better level!?! :wink:

That's Joomla Core stuff!! But it loosk as though it will work OK. What is needed is a mssql equivalent of libraries/joomla/database/database/mysql.php - if this file (from spambox's post of 11 March 09) does the trick it's worth running a few experiments with.
