508 compliance

joomlanoob 16 Apr, 2009
Does anyone know if the forms created by the Chronoengine wizard are 508 compliant? I'm particularly wondering about the "info button" that shows tooltip text when you roll over it since the tooltip is implemented as javascript.

Anyone have experience trying to meeting 508 compliance rules with these forms?

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Hi joomlanoob,

I've absolutely no idea about 508 compliance but if tooltips are a potential problem use text in <small></small> tags instead.

Hi joomlanoob,

I'm not sure whats 508 compliance too but the tooltips are images with a hover event, no javascript code inside the form itself, its just an event loaded when the page loads!

Hi Max,

508 Compliance is a US regulation to encure accessibility for people with disabilities (see here) but this covers many things, one of them I think is to make sure that screen readers (like JAWScan find and parse the text in the form.
