Installation Problem: Could not find an XML setup file

eplevc 30 Mar, 2009
I am trying to install chronoforms V3.1 RC3. After downloading the file, i just use the standard procedure for installing a component. But after hitting "Upload file & Installation" i just get the error: Error! Could not find an XML setup file in the package.. There should be a simple solution for this, but i cant figger it out. Any suggestions? Tnx

It's so strange, i installed the RC on another website before, without any problems. Must say this website is hosted on another server, but same host. Yesterday i also get the message "no setup file" on the stable version. I retried today and i got this(for RC and stable):

* JInstaller::install: SQL Error. DB function failed with error number 2006
MySQL server has gone away SQL=DELETE FROM `jos_components` WHERE `option` = 'com_chronocontact';
SQL =

DELETE FROM `jos_components` WHERE `option` = 'com_chronocontact';

* Component Install: SQL Error. DB function failed with error number 2006
MySQL server has gone away SQL=DELETE FROM `jos_components` WHERE `option` = 'com_chronocontact';
SQL =

DELETE FROM `jos_components` WHERE `option` = 'com_chronocontact';

* Error Loading ModulesMySQL server has gone away SQL=SELECT id, title, module, position, content, showtitle, control, params FROM jos_modules AS m LEFT JOIN jos_modules_menu AS mm ON mm.moduleid = m.id WHERE m.published = 1 AND m.access <= 2 AND m.client_id = 1 ORDER BY position, ordering

I think i can say that the problem is not chronoforms, i guess it must be the server or the joomla installation. Would be nice if you could take a look at the error, i am not that advanced in joomla.

Tnx for your help Max. I hope I can get this working cause I really need the licensed version for 2 websites🙂
