lemur 02 Jan, 2009
Hallo,

i had the same problem for ChronoForm and it was solved.

Now I have tryed to change ChronoComments, but I can't do it😟

I need to have for registered user the comment form without captcha?

How is it possible?

Thanks.

Hi lemur,

you need to hack the template file of the comments and the chronocomments.php file, both under components/com_chronocomments/ it may not be as easy as Chronoforms but it will be if you take a careful look at the files!

Hey Lemur,

Did you manage to figure it out? This php stuff is too complicated for me! 😟

One day I may get to grips with it but I fear that day is not now. :'(

I would also like to stop registered users from being required to submit their email. I know that they wont be sent a verification email so I dont really want that box there. I am trying to make it as simple as possible for people to be able to comment.

Those are my two biggest wishes for chron comments. Otherwise it is a pretty awesome component!

Hi Justin,

I agree with the changes you need but I'm afraid this is not easy to do without many hacks, I will add it to the suggestions forums and will check it soon before starting working in a new release!

Cheers Max... When I have got my sites up and running I think I will do a crash course in php! Keep up the good work!

Hallo, Max.

It is too complicated, to hack your program. 😟

and I think, my desire is a general desire,
because of both the tricks - registration and capcha - serve the same goal: to protect the site.

Why do I need double protection in this instance?

You have a parameter:

SEND EMAILS VERIFICATION: - Disabled - SEND TO GUESTS ONLY - SEND TO EVERYBODY

It should be at least a parameter such as:

CAPTCHA SHOW: - Disabled - Active for GUESTS ONLY - Active for EVERYBODY

For us, it's not a trivial matter.
We wanted to use ChronoComments, because of we use the Licensed ChronoForms and the two extensions have the same style.
Because of this problem with capcha we probably have to forgo ChronoComments and take an another extension to comment.

Can we hope that the new version without this problem will soon appear?

Thanks,
Leon

Hi Leon,

I understand, Hopefully I will have a new version for Chronoforms this weekend, if so then I will make some ChronoComments fixes and post it by the mid of the next week, I only want to concentrate on finishing the new features of Chronoforms before starting something else, so at the earliest it will be by Tuesday!
