I'm trying to download the sample form from the ChronoEngine website, but the link appears to be broken??

That form is only useful if you have ChronoForms 2.5 - it won't work with ChronoForms 3.0 in Joomal 1.5. Instead download the tutorials from the downlaod area and work through those to create your own form.
