Hi msharab,
try it on J1.5.8, I think there is a problem with your mootools file in your joomla install! the Asset class should be there by default, Joomla has the full mootools!
Regards
Max

Hmmm how you solved the issue?
I am having the same problem even if i have Joomla 1.5.9 and for sure mootools installed. Chronocomments works fully ok in Firefox and half ok in IE (8 and 7).
Both have script.js issue described in this topic.
Take a look on this example

Hi Elvar,
I just submitted a test comment in IE7 and didn't see any problems or errors???

Hmm..
thanks Bob i can see it worked. But my problem is not that it did not worked - but in IE if you are entering Email or Captcha code the text box which is allign to it is not use in full size. So if email is longer then 6,7 characters it goes to the left like the text in the text box is alligned to the right.
Also you can see slightly navigation buttons in the first half of the box for input comment. Just thought maybe this guy before already knew solution to it.
Elvar
p.s. there is still same error message in js script (if you are debuging)

Bob,
somehow js error dissapear but i am putting the screenshot of the problem.

Points are:
1. you can see navigation bar in the empty box for comment
2. in input box 'Name' i wrote : Name and Lastname - and you can see just 'nd Lastname'
3. same with email (can not see 'em' from start)
4. same with captcha code
SO, maybe this is now something completely different then header of this topic but...
Thanks Bob once again for free and very useful and solid component.

Hi elvar,
Thanks for that - weird, I haven't spotted that on your site or anywhere else :-(
And thanks for the thanks - these are Max's products, I just help out with some technical support.

Hi, for me too all looks fine in IE7!
Now i also checked in IE7 - it is fine...
Just to say - this topic was about js script error which also i had in both F and IE/. Then i realize in IE7 this strange behaviour too. Meanwhile i did some other debugging and probably i somehow managed to resolve this js error what i wanted to ask.
Meanwhile i also update IE to IE8 (that was the only reason - to test it) and i can say now - this problem still exist and it is only in IE8. So lets stays like thatπ
Thanks

Hi,
IE8 is not in beta anymore and obviously we track development of IE very tight π
What i did? Unfortunately you need to update IE to have it, but then after that i installed IE7 standalone.. Very stupid...
If you do not want to test it no problem. It works and we do not want to ruin your IE7 because of that

Hi Bob,
Thank you, I guessed this too! π
@elvar, I will try to test it, I have more than 1 PC here to try all kinds of browsersπ but I will do this while making the next version!!
However, the error looks like some problem with the JS code loading which may happen randomly with any browser, I remember that I saw strange errors like this before in FF even when there was no errors, so I think its the RC1 version problems or just give it a try at another PC and let me know!
Regards
