How Do I Restrict Comments to a Single Category

metroarea 22 Oct, 2008
In the View Filters section of the Parameters, I have only one thing highlighted. That is one single Category. The problem is that on the website itself comment links appear in many additional Categories and Articles where I do not want them. There does not seem to be any pattern to where comment links appear and don't appear.

Please tell me what I am doing wrong.

Hi George,

Did you choose any sections or articles beside this one category ? don't select any sections or articles, if you selected only this category then it will be enabled for only it!

Max,

Thanks for your reply. I understand what you are saying. I agree that the extension should work the way you describe.

I have one Category selected "Featured Training Event" and one Section that is unpublished "News" (not related to Featured Training Event). But there are comment links all over the place. Please check it out for yourself at JoomlaInstruction.com.

Also, once you click on anything in one of the View Filters boxes, there is always at least one item highlighted. I want to unselect News as mentioned above but there is no way to do it.

Thanks,

George

Hi George,

of course I don't know whats your content structure but lets remove the News section selection first then recheck, just hold CTRL in your keyboard and click the news item in the list to deselect it and then save at the top then retry!
