Moving from CFv7 to CFv8

cappleby 24 Oct, 2023
Is it possible to have a restore function in CF8 that reads from a CF7 backup please?
Alternatively or also could you please fix the problem with Chronog3_plg that is stoppping the upgrade to J5.0

Actually the upgrade to J5 works fine but the CF7 form wouldn't open the editor on the form fields. Chrome console says "tinymce is not defined". So I added in media/editors/tinymce from the J3 version and the editor now works. Can we have an update to Chronforms 7 that adds in the tinymce editor to the nedia folder or changes the chronog3_plg file please.

Actually the upgrade didn't work properly. I now can't access extensions from the system page or the home dashboard.

please try the new v7.0.12 update, it should make v7 compatible with Joomla 5

@cappleby, I think you may have the "backward compatibility" plugin disabled, you will need to enable it using phpmyadmin and modify the record in the "extensions" table, or disable the "chronog3_plg" in the same table in order to access joomla

Thanks Max, that's a great help.

I've now updated to 7.0.12 and I disabled Chronog3_plg via mysql but couldn't find a backward compatibility plugin in extensions or chronog3_extensions. The upgrade now works but I still can't restore a CF7 form to CF8.

Max, when I opened CF7 after upgrading to J5 the icons were extra large and the form didn't display correctly. I then downloaded CF7.0.12 from your website and reinstalled it and it went back to working correctly. I wonder whether that was because I upgraded to 7.0.12 under J4.4.
