The "setup emails" buttons not working!

chaten 10 Sep, 2008
Hello,

After spending a few hours trying to figure out why the form won't send i have read that the "setup email" needs to be setup! I did not set this up because none of the buttons are working on the "setup email" section or the "form wizard section."

When i say thay are not working, i mean that when i click on them or drag and drop them, nothing happens.

Any ideas please!

Hello, thanks for your time. I'm using Firefox 3.0.1 and i have no javascript errors. I tried disabling Javascript but it made no difference.

FireFox will not tell you you have errors I guess, use Internet explorer and try it, does it show "error on page" at the bottom left ?

Hi chaten,

I went there and found that the mootools JS function setText always is undefined, I'm not sure why but maybe its a corrupted file problem, try to install a new fresh joomla on a sub directory of the site and reinstall Chronoforms and see what happens, please get a new joomla installer package, maybe 1.5.7.

let me know

regards

lol! I don't believe it. I just finished upgrading to 1.5.6. about 2 days ago which was a bit of a task. Now 1.5.7 is out. As soon as i update it i'll let you know how i get on. Thanks again for your time

Okay,

I've upgraded. No problems in doing so but the chrono form is still not working. I know you're busy (admin) but if your interested then please feel feel to take a look.
Max_admin 16 Sep, 2008
Hi, how did you upgrade ? full reinstall or patch ?

I upgraded (patch), then reinstalled chronoforms but no luck
Max_admin 16 Sep, 2008
reinstalling Chronoforms has nothing to do with this issue, please try to install a complete new joomla at a sub directory, the key point is to make a new full joomla install or just get the new mootools.js file because I suspect yours is broken and it will not be overwritten on a joomla upgrade.

Well... just thought I would drop by here and mention that I am using Joomla 1.5.7 and the new chronoforms... I have to say up until now, I have always praised this component as being the best, but honestly, this latest version with all the fancy dancy stuff... lose it and keep it simple. But to get to the point here, I've even tried many ways to get this "setup emails" function to work and it's just not cutting it. So you may want to go back to the drawing board on this one. I dropped this version and reverted back to an older one as time is of the essence on my end.

Good luck with the fixes!

Hi joeyscc,

The V3.0 has so many new features and too many users also prefer V3.0 as a very feature rich one, the setup emails panel was made to help of course and not to complicate, if you are following the instructions correctly to get the setup emails panel to work and it doesn't then there is some JS error somewhere, I'm sure it is not in the code since this has been tested so many times but as the case above, it may be a file problem or so and a new install may be needed, if you are interested in getting the issue fixed you can email me an admin login and I will check it!

Cheers
