Auto content and {AUTO_FIELDS} do not work anymore

Roi Danton 05 Jul, 2019
Hello,

I am using Chronoforms 6 on Joomla. Today I activated database saving on 6.0x which was not active until then. Suddenly the forms I use complained that I did not fill out all required fields (which I did). So I upgraded to the latest 6.1 and the error about the required fields vanished again. But when I received the confirmation mails I did not see any fields in the mails anymore. They were there before, last change of the forms was some months ago, last correct mails were received yesterday.

When I take a look into the database tables I setup today I see everything. Only "Auto content" / "Include Email" enabled fields and the variable {AUTO_FIELDS} in the body (which I tried when I noticed that Auto content did not do anything anymore) do not work anymore.

For sure I still have enabled "Include value in email" for all desired fields.

I cannot say what is happening here. Also debug does not show much. The mail body just ends after everything static I put in the mail body.

Looking for help or ideas,
thank you,
Roi

Could you please post a screenshot of your email settings now ?

Sure, I would like to. But I get the error "Error saving the attachment file." here in the forum. I tried to upload a 20kb png file. As attachment and image. Both showed the same error.

Yeah Max people have been having trouble uploading images for like 2 weeks now.

Roi use snag.gy and instead of attaching the file, use the URL when you click image.

Could you please test the form in the admin area using the "preview" button ? does it have the same issue ?

It worked there.

But I think I might know what is happening.

No idea why, the Google reCAPTCHA asks me with the photo challenge if I am human or not. Like showing me photos where I have to identify cars, busses, bridges... If that shows then the mail content does not show the auto content. In the preview window I did not had to identify stuff (just had to check the box) and here it worked.

And also: customers use the form as we speak. And it works! I guess that do not have to do extra tests.

Why I have to do these tests, no idea. I am using IE, Edge for testing and as main browser Brave (Chromium/Chrome with some extra features). Also I use alternative DNS. Some stuff Google might not like to see there.

So if I am right, the Google reCAPTCHA sometimes seems to break the mail. In the database the stuff appears as I mentioned.

Cheers,
Roi

You have to do the tests because you're running the form several times so Google is making sure you're not a bot or spammer
