How to assign an Existing User to a new Usergroup?

I have a form where existing joomla Users can Update their Joomla Profile. Everything works, except one thing.
When the user submits the form, he should automatically be assigned to a new user group.
​
How can i write a new entry in the #_user_usergroup_map table?
