Unable to vaildate installations

brocars 07 Jul, 2017
Never had a problem with this before but twice now I am getting the following error when I try to validate the CF installation in the joomla backend,

We couldn't validate your key because your hosting server doesn't have neither the CURL library nor the fsockopen functions or they may exist but don't function properly, please contact your host admin to fix them or contact us here Or at this email address : webmaster@chronoengine.com

Joomla 3.7.2
CFv4

I spoke with the host company but they didn't seem able to help

Still struggling with this. I received a reply from Max as I had emailed hime at the email suggested in the backend error message. He then replied from a different gmail email which I then replied to but not heard back again from him.

He said:

Please try to use the serial number with the validation number, and the domain name detected by chronoforms in the admin area should match the domain name used to generate the key.

I then said:

I have used the serial number (you mean the order number right?) and the domain does match. I have followed the same process as I have many times before to validate and it’s only the last two occasions I have had problems.

www.armfieldangling.com was first validated a couple of years back but I have just re-built the site and tried to validate with the original key ***************************9777fa under order number ********517

www.apex22.co.uk was a new validation with key *****************************fe0d0dcc under order number ***********228

both are listed in my list of validated sites despite the backend of Joomla saying they couldn’t be validated and the powered by message still showing on the live sites.

all my validations say “locked” and “Locked keys will NOT validate, you can use this to secure your keys.” I unlocked the two relevant keys but still not validating.

Any further thoughts

Thanks, Paul

Hi Paul,

Do you have cURL or fsock_open() enabled?

I can see that the armfieldangling validation is still locked - did you re-lock it again?

Hi Bob

I have just checked with the host guys and they tell me that cURL and fsock_open() are both enabled.

When I check my list of validations, I can see that www.armfieldangling.co.uk is unlocked still (green tick).

Never had this problem in all the years I have been using Chronoforms. Could it be anything to do with latest Joomla versions?

Hi Paul,

I don't see a validation for .co.uk - .com was still locked so I have now unlocked it. Does that make a difference?

Sorry, I meant .com (not co.uk) but no, still unable to validate both domains.

Thanks, Paul

HI silkroutemedia ,

Do you have cURL and/or fsock_open enabled in your PHP installation?

Hi

I am still having problems with validations and still getting the following error in the Joomla backend:

We couldn't validate your key because your hosting server doesn't have neither the CURL library nor the fsockopen functions or they may exist but don't function properly, please contact your host admin to fix them or contact us here Or at this email address : webmaster@chronoengine.com

Both CURL and fsockopen are enabled but I am still unable to validate domains.

Any further ideas?
