Captcha resets the multipage form

Szymon 06 Jun, 2017
Hello,
I know that this issue has been addressed on numerous occasions, however none of the solutions seem to be working for me.
I have quite complex multipage form and the wrong captcha entry resets the whole form and reloads to the first page. Strange but everything works just perfect on single page forms.
In addition I can't find anywhere "Try to republish" option which is suggested as one of the solutions of similar problems (or maybe I'm just overlooking something).
The "Reset data" option is set to YES on the first page and to NO on following pages (see attached picture). Could this have anything to do with my problem? In fact if I'm not wrong this is the suggested setting on the multipage forms (at least it is set this way on demo multipage form).
I imagine that reseting the whole meticulously filled form could be quite frustrating for our clients.
Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi Simon,

It always seems to me that adding a Captcha on a multi-page form is not terribly helpful, few spammers will ever get to the second page.

Please check that the Event Loop action in the Check Captcha action is pointing to the right event - that is the one with the Load Captcha action in it.

Thanks Bob for quick response.
I will take into consideration your suggestion on using captcha on multi-page forms. Hm... I did not think that way but you might be right with it. All in all we could always try 1-2 days without captcha and we'll see what happens.
Neverthless I will also try the Event loop action although quick check suggests all is OK.
I will have a check and will let you know.

Thanks again.

Hello again!
Just letting you know that changing the event name in the Check Captcha action (Event Loop) solved the problem. Good guess - or it wasn't just the guess but solid knowledge. Anyway, that worked!

For other users: when using captcha on multipage forms you MUST change the event name to the right event (in most cases it is the name of the last page eg. page5 - typically there you put your captcha).
Do NOT leave the field unchanged ("load") as the tooltip suggests.

Hope my problem will help someone else!🙂
Good look and thanks again!

Simon
