inputmask dd/mm/yyyy translation

Is there a way to override - translate the dd/mm/yyyy inputmask?
I can change it in:
libraries/cegcore/assets/jquery/jquery.inputmask.js
But it has to be done after every Joomla update.

You might be able to set a Placeholder value in the form element using a data attribute. See the InputMask doce here

The case is that in some fields i use a placeholder like placeholder="Start Date" and also an inputfield dd/mm/yyyy that works on mouse over and helps a lot my users when writing dates.

I was asking if there was an obvious way for the translation that i am missing if not i 'll keep my mind when updating Joomla and change it manually.
