Datepicker today only

I'm using Wordpress 4.5 with Chronoforms v 5.0.9 and Datepicker is not working. No matter what date is selected today's date is placed in the date field.
I don't have any extra parameters on the datepicker element except that it is a required field.
Please advise.

I figured out that if I use a Text Box with a Date mask it works just as well even though there is no calendar picker.
