Form not processing / timing out

Leilahodgkins 11 Apr, 2016
Hi there

I have a small form here:

http://77.104.128.75/~icingcen/index.php/competition

But when you fill in the form and hit Send, it doesn't process the form and eventually times out.

I have installed the latest version of ChronoForms 5, with the latest version of Joomla.

Any idea why this might be happening?

Many thanks
Leila

I used one of the demo forms as a basis so I think my set up should be OK.

BTW, PHP version is 5.3

Hi Leila,

Does the form work correctly from the View Forms or Test Forms link? If so then the FAQ "My form does not save, submit, . . ." Should help.

Thanks for pointing me to that FAQ. I have been through the steps and the only one that produced a result was the last one with the hidden menu item.

Now I get a 404 Error when submitting the form saying 'Category not found'. The URL is:
http://77.104.128.75/~icingcen/index.php/my_form-submit/component/chronoforms5/

Any ideas?

Hi Leila,

That doesn't look like a URL from a Menu??

Do you ave an SEF Component on tne site?

Hi there,

No, no SEF components.

As it happens, from a lot of trial and error, I have discovered the element that seemed to be breaking the form! If I change the 'From email' address of the OnSubmit email settings to anything other than admin@domain.com the form just hangs when you click 'Submit'.

Anyway, I have a working form now using the default From email address. I can live with that, but it would be interesting to know why...

Many thanks for your help and time.

Hi Leila,

Probably because your mail service is configured to require that address to sign on.

Ah, no I literally mean 'admin@domain.com'! The default value that is in the demo form. If I change it to our domain name it doesn't work.

Hi Leila,

Hmmm . . . In that case I have no idea :-(
