Hello,
I've been dealing with some issues in Chronoforms since the upgrade to Joomla 3.5. One of them is the GSheet save that stops to work properly. After the upgrade i realize that the form dind't upgrade the google spreadsheet. I checked the setup and all the configurations were empty. I re-introduced all the values on the fields, saved it, but the action still doesn't work and in the setup, the action still appears like the pic.
Hi ajsilva,
Someone else asked the same question. I've found the problem and updated my DropBox folder. I'll PM you a link the action file (without the Google API files included).
Bob
Hello,
I'm have the exact same problem. Would love the solution too.
Thanks
Hi Nuvelle,
I'll check where the missing function is but the error is triggered after these tests:
+ the client id contains the string, "googleusercontent"
+ the email_address is not empty
+ the key_file_location is not empty
So the cause of the error is most likely one of these.
Bob
I have not upgraded to 3.5 yet, but I am getting the same GSheet issues. I have been copy/pasting my forms that I use every month for contests, but it's no longer copying the GSheet API information with it, but even after re-entering that information, it will still not save to the Google Sheets. Is there a fix for this?
Peace,
Bryson
Hi Bryson,
Google changed the authorisation requirements a few months ago. You need to upgrade the action if you haven't already done so. I'll PM you a link to download a copy.
Bob
Hello,
Using Joomla 2.5.7 and Chronoforms 5, I am seeing the same thing as ajsilva, that is, even though the action is enabled and the fields are completed, and those settings are saved on "Save and Close", the Setup screen still shows the settings incomplete and the action disabled.
I downloaded the action yesterday (Apr 25 2016).
Thanks as always.
HI Dnigra,
Just checking, where did you download it from?
Bob
From the link inside the FAQ: https://www.chronoengine.com/faqs/70-cfv5/5233-how-do-i-use-the-google-spreadsheet-save-action.html
... in the box marked "Important"
thanks, dnigra
Hi dnigra,
I've just re-downloaded it, installed the action and it is working OK. Please check the config.php file in the action folder. You should see code like this [actions_config][_XNX_][enabled] the older version had [actions_config][{N}][enabled] instead.
Bob
Hi Bob,
I do see what you expect, [actions_config][_XNX_][enabled]. Here is the interesting thing, though. I had to look for that on my desktop................
To install the Google sheets action, I used the CF5 Install action; message indicated that it was installed successfully. The action showed up under GH Custom actions in the Setup screen. But there was no actions folder created under /administrator/components/com_chronoforms5/chronoforms.
I'll manually copy the contents of Chronoforms V5 action..... .zip to the actions folder and try it again and let you know.
Thanks for you help as always, dnigra
Oh wait, I lied. Or rather, I looked in the wrong place.
I do have the actions folder under /administrator and a gsheet_save_gh folder there, and it has the correct config file. However, I also have a google_spreadsheet_save folder there created in February 2016. I originally thought I'd try this in Feb, then things got busy, so here I am at the end of April finally trying it.
Should I remove the google_spreadsheet_save folder and its contents?
dnigra
To be clear, the gsheet_save_gh folder is in /administrator/components/com_chronoforms5/chronoforms/actions
not directly in /administrator.
HI dnigra,
That's correct and you should have these files in the folder.

You should also have the Google files in /components/com_chronoforms5/extras/Google
Bob
Hi Bob,
Yes I have those files also.
Double checking: the Google API library should be unzipped in /components/com_chronoforms5/extras/Google/
Yes?
Hi dnigra,
Yes, that's correct.
By all means PM me the site URL, the form name, and a SuperAdmin login and I'll take a quick look.
Bob
