Why do I keep seeing __CODE__0 in potentially helpful forum posts?

Many if not most of the posts I look at for answers to questions contain __CODE__0 where I would expect code to be. I have tried looking with Safari, Firefox and Chrome browsers. The attached screen shot is an example.

I figured out the problem. There is something wrong with the forum search function when it highlights the search term. If your search includes the word "code", then the highlight mechanism disables the display of coding examples. I tried searching for "custom code example" and this is what get's appended to the URL when clicking on a topic and is what breaks the page display:

?hilit=custom+code+example

If you delete this part from the URL and reload the page, then __CODE__0 is replaced by the coding example of the original text.

It seems like a strange bug and makes the endless search for answers that much more tedious, but after attempting to use (and giving up on) the locales feature in Chronoforms, I think I can see how this error is being generated. Perhaps the search and replace criteria is too generalized?

Just found a similar artifact in search. If your search term includes "URL", then the highlight function disables links:
