Yesterday I bought Chronoforms for my site. I installed it in mine site and did the validation. Then I tried to make a form. I followed the instruction given on the site but I can't save the form. Every time I get Save failed. I also se no demo versions. What am I doing wrong

Hi Eric,

Please click the Demos icon in the Forms Manager toolbar to install the Demo forms.

What exactly do you see if you click the New icon, put test_form in the Form Name box, then click Save ?

When I click on the demos icoon nothing happens.

Your college told me that I have to install all three parts (component, plugin and module). At this moment I installed the component. The plugin and module when I download them I don't get a zip file. So I don't now where to install these.

Perhaps if I can install plugin and module the problem will be fixed.

Hi Eric,

As I said in my email you only need to install the component. When you need the plug-in and/or module you install them like any other Joomla! extension.

What exactly do you see if you click the New icon, put test_form in the Form Name box, then click Save ?

Hi Eric,

By all means PM me the site URL, the form name, and a SuperAdmin login and I'll take a quick look.

Hi Eric,

The ChronoForms database tables hadn't been created correctly. I have reinstalled ChronoForms and all now seems to be OK - at least I have created and saved a little test form.

PS I noticed that your PHP is configured with Magic Quotes On, this will cause you problems with some CF features. I suggest that you turn it off - that's now the default PHP setting.

Thank you for looking and for the tip. I'm just a dummy. My real job is filmmaking.

I don't know what magic quotes will do and also where to set it on off. Can you tell me where I can find this.

Thanx

Hi Eric,

Magic Quotes is a PHP setting that automatically 'escapes' quotation marks in submitted data. The problem is that if the quotes are already escaped you end up with a mess - usually saved data that is littered with /////

The Joomla! docs for this are here - your webhost may also have some.
