Chronoforms crashed my site

tineschnell 16 Jul, 2015
Hi

I've just been asked to look after a site which runs on Joomla 1.5.22.

I installed the correct version of Chronoforms created my form and then the website was only showing the following error message n the front end

Form name can NOT be empty. nothing else

It had asked me to enable mootools upgrade for the wizard to work.

I managed to get the site back up and running by deleting the chronoform component etc but wondering if you've come across this before and if there's a workaround to it?

Hi tineschnell,

Sorry hard to know what is happening with the information here.

Which version of ChronoForms did you install. I'm guessing it was CFv4, but CFv3 also runs on Joomla! 1.5

You do need to have Joomla! MooTools upgrade plug-in enabled to run CFv4 (see this FAQ). It is possible that this will interfere with some older component on the site.

The message appears if the form cannot be identified, but normally you wouldn't see that on the home page, and the rest of the template would appear. You don't say how you had the form displayed on the site, it does should as though the back-end which is the more complex part is running OK.
