I'm tearing my hair out with a strange problem with menu aliases. I'm transferring a Joomla 2.5 site to Joomla 3 and for some reason some of the menus appear to be breaking the CSS, or in fact bringing some rogue Gantry Bootstrap span class (compiled - so I can't change it) in which means that it alters the layout of the affected items. I've confirmed this by changing e.g. original alias /spanish-courses (breaks) to /fff. The latter alias fixes the problem i.e. the span class is no longer applied and it reverts back to the "proper" css, but obviously an alias like fff is completely useless. I don't understand why it's only affecting some items, and that it stops affecting them when I change the alias, but only to certain things...
