Error when sending the contact form

I use joomla 3.0.3 an the latest release of chronocontact. Everytime I try to send the form i get the following error:

Mailer Error: Could not instantiate mail function.

I tested my server settings with the joomla contact form and it worked. So the error can't be caused by false settings.
What else might be the problem?

Did you configure the email settings correctly ? To, Subject, From name and from email ?

Did you try ChronoMyAdmin for managing your Joomla database tables ?

I have the same problem, this error:
