I just installed Version 2.3 RC1 tonite and the install went well and i am fairly decent at creating forms.

The problem is all that is showing up in the emails when i receive them is the IP address. None of the fields i have in the form are showing up in the email. I even just tried creating a form using the basic tutorial for creating a form and that is not working either other than the IP address shoing up.

I am not finding any tutorials that match the version release i have just installed. The illustrations in the video tutorials has less tabs etc than i have and i have to think that creating in the new release may be slightly different. There was nothing to speak of in the configuration of the chronoforms other than Engine and Type. was there anything else that needed to be done in there.

Is there a more detailed step by step tutorial for creating a form that also includes validation. I am sure there is some way to do it in the form creation but none of the tutorials i am finding are giving much detail and seem to assume that we beginners just know how this component is supposed to work.

I am inclined to purchase a license for this extension but i would like to see more complete docs. If i seach the forum for documentation on the three little short tutorials come up with and i am not finding anyone on the forum that has the same issue that i am having.

Please advise

I figured it out. But a more detailed tutorial would be appreciated as i am sure this can do way more then we realize.

I created the video tutorials for Max and I do ahe some more that were almost complete but the release of 2.3 makes them all redundant. Unfortunatly my computer's been off line for a month and I'm off to day to Italy for a couple of weeks so there won't be any replacements until next month. I'm sorry about that.

There are quite a few more FAQs up there and that's probably the best place to look for trouble-shooting tips for the moment (along with these forums).

Validation was new to all of us in 2.3 and you are correct, the documentation hasn't kept up. I finished a FAQ (I think) on using JavaScript validation just the day that Max released 2.3RC1.

Hopefully we'll continue to improve teh documentation in the autumn.

I have the same problem and wouldn't mind finding out how to fix this.

My forms used to work ok, now they don't register the input data.
Emails are sent through OK, however when the email comes through it does not display the data, only the field names. In the back-end, only ip address is recorded.

The code of my email template is:

The below person has requested more information about training courses:
<br /><br />
Name: {name} <br />
Job Title: {jobtitle} <br />
Company: {company} <br />
Telephone: {telephone} <br />
E-mail: {email} <br /><br />
Message if any: <br /> 
{message} <br /><br />

But when the email comes through it looks like this:

Name: {name}
Job Title: {jobtitle}
Company: {company}
Telephone: {telephone}
E-mail: {email}

Message if any:
{message}



Email field names are correct and I have not made any changes to the database, only change has been to form layout.

Well, it turns out in the form html had added number "2" after each field name!! So now it works. Thank you very much.

Oh and thank you for a great component. I am still in the process of testing things out.:)
