Chrono Comments want a logged in User to login.

Dragonstar 15 Sep, 2008
I have chose the option that guests can comment in the configurations settings. But in this case chrono comments wants a logged in user to login. If no user is logged in it works correctly, but if a user is logged in chrono comments says that the one who wants to make the comment should login first.

That's a bug.

I have found out that if i chose "only comments by registered user" chrono comments also want a logged in user to login. In this case it isn't possible for any user equal if logged in or not to post comments..

Hi Dragonstar,

so when you set it to guest only it will not work ?

Did you try ChronoMyAdmin for managing your Joomla database tables ?

I know now what the error was. I have chosen in the posting permission "public frontend". The right decision is "registered". Now registered and logged in users can comment and if the option "can guets comment" is enabled also guests can comment.

Notice:

If you (the admin) want to have the right to make comments you have to chose "Super administrator" in the posting permissions too.

Exactly, maybe this is hard to understand for some users but it gives you more control over the process.

Can you explain more?

I saw "Please login to post comments or replies" even when I was logged in.
I was enabled guest comments .
joomla version : 1.5.7
CC version : 1.1

I want every body can send comments.
What should I do ?
Max_admin 01 Oct, 2008
Hi rostamiani,

try to choose some posting groups beside having guests set to yes, choose registered users too ?

Im using community builder 1.2RC2
Joomla 1.5.7
ChronoComment 1.1

I have community builder set to yes
Groups to post: registered
guests can comment: yes

it asks for user to login to submit comments.

I read this thread and could not find a solution.

I am so desperately needing someone to solve this issue.....

Chrono Comments wants a logged in user to login....
when I log out, it allows me to go through the process of posting a comment.
When I click submit I get a white rectangular box with a white button... Both are blank
It appears that the comment is submitting. I receive an email that I had a new comment on my site. I can't view the comment and I can't post a comment when logged in.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP.... I have tried everything listed in this forum.... NOTHING is working for me....

Again, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE WITH SUGAR AND STRAWBERRIES on top.

- Ken.... lol
Max_admin 19 Dec, 2008
Hi ken,

whats your joomla version ? do you have comments always published at the parameters ? do you enable the verification ?

Hey.... I figured it out... I really don't think this is a BUG after all... I just think its a situation where WE don't know how to configure our settings properly... I'm posting the working settings I've used to make it work....
Max_admin 20 Dec, 2008
thanks Kean, the images don't load, can you attach them here please ?
