Is it possible to use more than 1 value in the event tab setting?
like:
on = value1;value2;value3 action: hide field: whatever
i.e. if any of the selevted values is true, the field shall be hidden

Did you try ChronoMyAdmin for managing your Joomla database tables ?
I have a dropdown set up (see below picture)
And some events that is ment to show / hide a field.
It does really not work. It hide, but does not show if the selected value changes.
What is the solution here?

Did you try ChronoMyAdmin for managing your Joomla database tables ?
It means, when I change from say " Montagstreff " (which let hide the field "Art der Veranstaltung") to something else, say " JV", the filed remains hidden.
it depends on the event you have, if you want to listen to multiple values then use "changes" or use "IN" and enter the values!

if this does not help then please create a simple form with the problem and attach the form backup here, please do not attach your whole form as it will be difficult to test the issue, just a simple form with the issue only!

You may see a dropdown "veranstaltung_art" with many entries to select.
What I want to achieve is that the Field "beschreibung" only appeares when "Montagstreff" or "Jassnachmittage" is NOT selected. If the selection is changed to other entries while entering data, and the Field is hidden, the Field."beschreibung" should appear again.[file=13557]Test_dropdown_27_Nov_2020_23_06_11.cf7bak[/file]
BTW, is it possible to set up the visual appearance of the CFv7 form as it was on the CFv5? Does the CFv7 not inhäriertet from the Joomla template ?
v7 uses a generic css to make sure the form display correctly on any website and screen width, but you can add your own CSS to force specific styles!
For your events question, just add conditions when the fields "are empty", if you want to check if another field is "hidden" then you can use the "Trigger" event and trigger a specific value when it gets hidden!
