Make columns sortable

touretteroma 20 Apr, 2019
Dear all,
recently, you added "Table List" component. It is very usefull to display the content of a table from database.
How is possible to make columns sortable? is it possible to add a "Sorting link" to the headers? How to configure the sorting link?

I would like to create something similar to your page where is possible to view the content of the table attached to the form.

Thanks

You will need to use the sorting widget in the headers area of the table then call it in your table settings, I'm supposed to add a demo on this feature soon!

Dear Max,
I'm trying to put a sorting widget in the headers area, but it is not clear which should be the value in "Field" and "Content" of the sorting widget.
Moreove, what does it means "... then call it in your table settings" ?
Could you please provide a simple sample :-)

Field would probably be the name of the field it's sorting by and Content would be the text content of the heading.

I'm trying... unsuccessfully.
Here my sample... no sorting link is displayed

In your columns list, replace Header with {view:sortername}
For example,
Data3.id:{view:sorter2}

Yes, now sortable widget appears on header. But clicking, ascending/descending order doesn't change.
Here my updated form.
I added sortable fields (A list of fields to be open for sorting using the sorter widget) but order never changes
