Hello,

someone can help me to connect an external MySQL DB
I can not connect an external database with MySQLi or pdo_mysql.

My webhoster can not turn off pdo_mysql given the system intergration for pdo_mysql.
I've read the most of the post in your forum about this but the setup for external database is a black hole for me.

And I get the error message time after time
Error Database connection failed.

does anyone have tips because this error is for us a show stopper.

Database Version 5.5.56-MariaDB
Database Collation utf8mb4_general_ci
Database Connection Collation utf8mb4_general_ci
PHP Version 5.6.32 tried also PHP Version 7.0.25
Web Server Apache

Hello admin,

I have run the 6.0.14 update on a clean joomla 3.8.2 installation.
and I have created a read DB in cf.
at save, a table was created in the cunstum DB wcd_chronoengine_chronoforms_data_google-maps.
After the save the message "Database connection failed" is still displayed
