Hi jack19,

Could be a permissions problem, could be a server timeout.

Try setting your site error reporting temporarily to Maximum and see if you get any error mesages (they may appear inside the Excel file).

Hi Bob,
I try, but no error messages appear.I use Excel 2007 and displays the dialog box that warns you that the file format is different than that specified by the file.

Hi jack19,

Hmm - very hard to say much more. By all means PM or email me the url and a SuperAdmin login and I'll take a quick look.

Hi Bob and Jacky,

After reading and trying this and this tread, I'm also having the same problems Jacky is describing.

Hope you find some solution. Thanks.

Hi Yvet,

What are the character code settings for your database tables? Are they set to UTF-8 or something else?

Hi Bob,

It is:

MySQL Karakterset: UTF-8 Unicode (utf8)
MySQL verbindingscollatie: Collatie utf8_unicode_ci

So that can't be the problem?

Hi Yvet,

Would you be kind enough to take a MySQL dump of your database table and email it to the address in my sig below. Then I'll see if I can replicate the problem.

Hi Yvet,

Just to report progress - or lack of it.

At the moment I'm baffled. I can export all of data in chunks so there is nothing wrong with that. But if I export more than about 8 rows or about 20 columns then the data is corrupt :-(

I've tried various combinations of rows and columns and saving the the file before downloading all so far to no effect .

I'll keep thinking about it and hope that I have a bright idea.
