Can not create multi column containers in designer view... :(

I can not resize from the corner, no option to do so at all mouse does not change to arrows in wordpress, even though the demo_multi_form displays the multi colums, I am still unable to replicate it from scratch, is there something amiss?

I guess I am going to have to do it manually in form type = custom code.😟
