excel file garbage -- HOW TO?

hi, when i first did the excel export it worked great. recently i tested it again and its garbage. see attached.

is there a way to just export a basic csv file? i saw in another thread you suggesting to format an email for it but then every entry is another email my client has to save and import.

I think I saw in another thread that you've fixed this by lifting the code from 2.3.7 ?
