Evaluated Quiz

r.spilauer 09 Dec, 2007
Hello

I've been using Chrono for some time now and it has wored perfectly for me.

What I would like to know is if I can make a quiz based on a form. This quiz would have say 50 questions (with radiobuttons I suppose) and after clicking the submit button, the form would show "thank you for taking the test" message and send the results to my address and to the address given by the person taking the test.

Ideally the test would be divided into say 5 parts 10 questions each and would store the data somewhere before the final result. But that is not a necessary feature. It would be nice though:).

Is anything like this possible with Chrono Forms?

Thank you very much for your answers.

Hi Radim,

It's fairly straight-forward to do this with a single form of 50 questions. You'd just keep the answers in an array in the code, put some code into the 'OnSubmit before email' box to compare the results array with the answer array and generate the email(s).

Doing it in 5 parts means storing the data somewhere, you could do it in hidden fields in the next form, in th session data or a cookie, or write it to the database. Any of these would work but the coding woudl be more complex.

I guess that you could also construct a dynamic page using tabbed code (JavaScript I guess) to show the pages one after the other (like the tabbed display in the Joomla Admin pages).

Personally I'd start out with a short dummy questionnaire with say 3 questions on a single page to get the code working, then extend to longer versions.
