Send info into database and view form fields

smriti 03 Nov, 2007
Hello There,

I am trying to create some forms that users will fill out and submit and this will populate a database. Users should also be able to search and view details that have been added in the forms.

Can you please suggest how I can do this with chronoform. Your guidence with this would be very much appreciated.

Thanks Kindly,
Smriti

Hi Smriti,

You can set up the form and save the data to a database table using ChronoForms as it is. However, you'll need to write custom code to let them search and view the database, ChronoForms doesn't support that at the moment.

There is code in ChronoForms that makes the data browseable by the Administrator and maybe some of this could be adapted for the Front Side - it would really depend on the details of your application.

HI smitri.

I have to do the same, currently I'm fixing some problems.

I'm not an expert at all in sql query... Could you send and share your trials, so that I could have kind of reference?

Any idea on how to build a "search for field " app/query in front end?

is it very complicated?

Hi all,

As Bob mentioned the admin code can be reused and this should be a "very easy" task, we can get it at the next Chronoforms release, however, everybody has his/her own application needs, so we will be thinking on the best way to have this new option added very soon🙂

Sincerely,

Max

Hello Everyone,

Thanks so much for your response back to my messages. It will be wonderful if this feature is added to chronoforms!🙂

Also, how can I send the data from the form to a mysql database?

Thanks Kindly,
Smriti

Hi Smitri,

Select the form in the Forms Manager and click the 'Create Table' button. You'll be asked to specify which fields you want saved and in what format.
