Hi,
I have the following error installing both ChronoForms 1.0.2.1 and 1.5:


I'm trying to install on:
Mambo 4.6.1
MacOS 10.4.9
Mamp 1.4.1 (Apache 2.0, php 5.1.6, 5.0.19)

I know this is an old topic, but I'm getting the same error. Does ChronoForms support Mambo? The front page suggests that it does because it says

I'm running this on a shared hosting server.
Server Info:
Mambo 4.6.3
Apache/2.0.54 (Debian GNU/Linux) mod_auth_pgsql/2.0.2b1 mod_ssl/2.0.54 OpenSSL/0.9.7e
PHP 5.2.1

Hi John,

There's a little bug in the chronocontact.xml installation file that is mostly trouble free in Joomla. Look for this

  <installfile>
    <filename>install.chronocontact.php</filename>
  </installfile>
  <uninstallfile>
    <filename>uninstall.chronocontact.php</filename>
  </uninstallfile>

and replace it with this

  <installfile>
    install.chronocontact.php
  </installfile>
  <uninstallfile>
    uninstall.chronocontact.php
  </uninstallfile>

and that may do the trick for you.

Only Max can tell you if ChronoForms still supports Mambo officially, though I think you are the first Mambo user I've seen post here in a few months.

Thank you. That helped to install it without error, but it doesn't seem to be installed right.

The 'configuration' menu item is missing.

The 'publish' checkbox is missing. (see attached screenshot)

I watched the tutorial and tried creating and using a form, and when I click on the form to view it, I get a message that says there is no form with that name. I assume this is because I can't publish it.😉<br><br>Post edited by: albertsj1, at: 2007/10/17 01:51

I never tested Chronoforms with mambo after the earliest release, I think there must be some issues but Joomla dominates now!!🙂

Yes. I've been using Joomla since it first branched from Mambo. Unfortunately, many commercial component developers are switching back to Mambo because of the Joomla teams GPL decision.
So, I'm stuck using Mambo, if I want to use certain components, such as EZ_Realty.
Any guesses as to where I can start poking around to see if I can fix this problem?

In my installation I still have a Configuration Menu item - but htere is only one entry for 'Form Name' and I don't think that it does anything??

The Publish item has been replaced by 'Data' in the latest release as Publishing apparently did nothing in Joomla.

I only get the 'No form found' problem when the form hasn't been written to the database for some reason. Can you check your database and see if the form info is in the ChronoForms table?

Ok. Well, maybe that's part of the problem then. I didn't realize that the 'publish' column was removed. I'm completely new to ChronoForms, and I was just trying to follow what the video tutorial said to do.
When I click on 'create table', there is a checkbox for 'column'. Do I check all of those checkboxes and create the table?
Do you think I can still use Chronoforms without the 'configuration' menu item?

Yes, sorry about the videos - Max updates the code faster than I can update the tutorials :-( One day I'll catch up again.

Yes, check the checkboxes for all the data fields that you want to store in the database - you probably don't want 'submit' for example.

And yes, there's nothing useful on the Configuration menu at the moment - not sure why its missing though.

Created the table, but it still doesn't work. Just to troubleshoot, I installed the component on a Joomla 1.0.13 install and created the exact same form. It worked fine, so it is another problem with compatibility with Mambo.
BTW, I had no 'configuration' menu item on the Joomla install either. It must have been removed.
