Exporting data to excel

Am receiving a message when I try to open my excel export that the file is unreadible(file size is 0k - have been thinking it a permission issue have altered directory to 777 but still same result). Data is being caught fine in site. Running Joomla 1.012 - the hosted server is running php in safe mode. Any help would be great appreciated!

Sorry, I've no real idea why this should happen - my first thought was permissions but you've checked that. Max may have some ideas but I think he's away for a day or two.

Hi wingman,

I imagine that this is a safe mode issue. Frankly I don't know much about it but I do know that it can prevent the opening or writing of some files.

Hi,

Do you have any records in the database for this form ? does the excel file contains any errors ? doesi t contains any sheets ?

There is data in the database and an email with all the applicant's information is sent to the correct people.
When the excel file comes out - it downloads to the desktop fine but when you try yo open it in excel it says the file is unreadable - I'll attach the export
The excel file has one sheet with the name of the export but no information
As i said email is working but the download facility is the real target

Hi wingman,

I confirm that the file opens for me and contains one sheet with no data. I'm not sure how best to debug this, maybe Max has a suggestion? I have confirmed that the Excel output works Ok on my installation.

Lets please assure that the version you have is 2.3.4 as we made very small changes to this part at this version, if the problem still exists it will help us finding it

Hi wingman,

In V2.3.4 use this way :

From the admin top menu > Menus > mainmenu > new > component > Choose chronoforms > click APPLY > enter form name on the right > hit SAVE.

You are done

Hello,

I, too, am having the same issue. The Excel file is blank / zero bytes long. I just copied the latest release files (2.3.4) over the old one and restarted the site, but the issue remains.

If anyone has any insight, please reply!
