How does one properly set up access permissions for a user that will be accessing Joomla admin but is not a Super User or Administrator? We usually set up a custom user group and only give our content managers access to a few relevant things, like Articles and Modules.

In my CC6 connection, I went to the Permissions tab and set all of the usergroups to Allowed, but still the only usergroups that can view the connection via Joomla admin are Super User and Administrator. I really don't want to make the content managers log in to the front end of the site just for this one thing when everything else they need is via the admin area, nor do I want to give them full Super User or Administrator access.

Am I missing a step to enable the permissions for other usergroups?

(FYI we do keep our Joomla and CC/CF updated to the latest versions.)

When viewing it from the backend, it won't be using those permissions it will be using the permissions in the options I believe. Could be wrong. Try changing the access rules here.

Thanks for the response, I did try that but it didn't seem to have any effect on Chronoconnectivity...I wonder if there should be an entry for it that's separate from Chronoforms?

At any rate, we don't *want* to give users access to edit and create forms or connections, just use the ones we already built for them. We did this a lot with CC5 so I'm hoping I'm just missing something with CC6.

I suppose you could always go to System -> Global Config. -> System and turn on Shared Sessions so they only have to log in once. to access both front and back

Hah, I just ran into this same problem again. I thought to myself, oh look a forum post, I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem! Aaand it's my own post.

To update, I found the Permissions in both the connection's main tab and for each event within the connection, but still nothing lets my non-Super Users access the connection within Joomla admin.

2nd update: I ended up editing the assets table directly to add the core.manage permission for the groups I needed, then edited /administrator/components/com_chronnoconnectivity6/chronoconnectivity6.php to change core.admin to core.manage. A better solution would be preferred...
