Public & Internal e-mail template

Postby moontear on Thu Jan 10, 2008 6:58 pm

Hello there,

I think it would be great to be able to have one Public e-mail template and one internal one.

The public e-mail template could be send to the user filling out the form, something like:

"Thanks for your registrations [yourdetails]..."

and the internal e-mail could say then:

"A user has registered with the following data [hisdetails] + [additionaldetails]".

Right now I only see the possibility to have one e-mail template which I could send to myself and the user, but no possibility to do that separately.

Yours

Hi Moontear,

You are correct there is only one template right now and a second one might be a useful add-on.

You can send a Thank you message to the submitter through the return page after the form is submitted.

You can also send two emails as you suggest though you would have to write the code for the second one and put it into the OnSubmit after e-mail box - I think there is an example in the Forums here.

You are right, I think I could easily implement the onsubmit after e-mail method - I just posted it in the suggestions forum because I don't think it is too hard to implement two difference e-mail templates (internal & external).

For future reference here are the posts I will be using to build my template:

Auto Responder
2 email layouts to 2 different email addresses

Hi Moontear,

You are right it would be fairly easy to implement - but it would make ChronoForms even more complicated for a new user (particularly someone who is new to Joomla too). I think at some poitn Max may fork into a basic version and an advanced one; they could share the same core code (even the same distro) but hide some of the options from users until they are ready to use them.

Very interesting approach I reckon, just like several programs offer a "show advanced options" checkbox. Implementing that will take some time though, but good luck with it.

Hi Dennis,Bob,

I agree with you on this, Exactly as Bob mentioned I didn't want to make ChronoForms more complicated, this feature is already in ChronoPerfilador component, I think we will make the more advanced ChronoForms too, Thank you!! :)

Sincerely,

Max
