CB Plugin triggers joomla registration not CBs?

Postby wizdum on Wed Jul 09, 2008 4:01 am

Im still struggling with the Community Builder plugin.
Joomla 1.5.3
Legacy mode plugin
Community Builder 1.1
Chronoforms 2.5 J1.5 RC3.1

basically it seems that after submitting the form made with chronoforms it triggers the normal joomla registration process rather than community builders.

All messages displayed and emails sent are the ones configured in joomla core and turning off the joomla user management (as advised by CB ) stops it from working at all.

I would really appreciate some help on this and am happy to work on it with the developer with a little guidance.

Basically I want to replace the form created with Community Builder with my own created with chronoforms, then have CB handle the email validation, notify the administrators and handle administrator confirmation.

I have made some modifications to the plugin to get this far.
Attached is a comparison (html in zip).

Hi wizdum,

Sorry, I don't use CB and am not very familiar with this plugin. I just took a quick look at the code and it does seem as though it uses the Joomla registration code for the most part.

I'm afraid that there's not a great deal I can do to help.

I'm nearly in the same position but still didn't made the registration form. I'll test it out and get back to you

what I'm doing is extending the user registration form with more fields and retrieving the fields in the user profiles I'm starting to work with CB 1.2 RC2 Joomla 1.5.3 and ChronoForms V2.5 RC 3.1

Have a good time. and will get back to you!

I saw your post, I was having the same problem till I found this on Joomla website. http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,1236/Itemid,35/. This worked for me, but know I need to try to get my chronoform to be my main registration. Any ideas would be great!

Thanks Samster, yes this will do it, just install this mambot, then go open the .php file at mambots/system/ and edit the redirect link to be your Chronoforms registration form link!

this is a solution for now, I will release a new Chronoforms mambot soon with better user interface to let you do this!

Cheers
